Gallery 70 - The Scandinavian Touch in Belgian Furniture
I was stroling in Antwerp, where we live, and I walked by one of my favorit windowdisplays: Minderbroedersrui 70, Gallery 70!
This poster caught my eye!!!The Scandinavian Touch in Belgian Furniture: 1951-1966
De tentoonstelling visualiseert de betekenis van het Scandinavische modernisme en de invloed op het Belgische modernisme. Volgens stilistische en technische parameters werd een selectie gemaakt van Scandinavische meubels die als inspiratie dienden voor een Belgisch meubel, binnen de periode 1951-1966. In een twintigtal cases wordt een Belgisch meubel gepresenteerd naast zijn Scandinavische tegenhanger. Typerend hierbij is de focus op het esthetische en het kwalitatieve aspect van het meubel. De aandacht gaat naar de eigenheid en het texturale karakter van het materiaal. Het meubel wordt geanalyseerd in zijn constructie en detaillering.

Little Fellow
Some of our furniture is partly made of recycled oak ... mostly beams from old buildings.
This little fellow is a small remain from a lot ... it has a history.
We can't use it for anything else other than being beautiful and just "be".
I love it ... and it's part of the family.
